Ladakh reports 7 new Covid-19 cases
Ladakh recorded seven fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to 20,781, while the active cases in the union territory has gone up to 156, officials said on Monday. Ladakh has registered 207 Covid-related deaths — 149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil — since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, they said.
Assam govt to lift Covid restrictions from November 1 to help worst-hit tourism sector: CM
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said his government is making efforts to revive the Covid-hit tourism industry by lifting restrictions from November 1 as the pandemic situation in the state has considerably improved. Addressing a state government programme on the occasion of World Tourism Day, he announced a relief package which will provide Rs two lakh each to 142 tour operators and Rs 25,000 each to 605 guides to overcome losses due to the pandemic.
Himachal reports 209 new Covid-19 cases
A total of 209 new Covid-19 cases, 225 recoveries were reported from Himachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours. As per a media bulletin issued today by the state health department, Himachal Pradesh has recorded 2,18,523 cases so far. The state has 1,730 active cases.
Tamil Nadu reports 1,657 new Covid-19 cases, 19 deaths
Tamil Nadu reported 1,657 new Covid-19 cases and 19 deaths in the last 24 hours. As per the state health department, the total count of cases in Tamil Nadu is 26,06,153 cases. Of these, 17,261 are active cases. With 1,662 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, the cumulative recoveries climbed to 26,06,153. The death toll stands at 35,509. Tamil Nadu has 301 Covid testing facilities, of which 69 are government-run and 232 are private. India on Monday recorded 26,041 new cases. With 29,621 recoveries during the last 24 hours, the cumulative recoveries mounted to 3,29,31,972. The recovery rate is 97.78 per cent.
Over 1.13 lakh women receive jabs during special session in Mumbai in one day
A total of 1,13,945 women were administered vaccines against Covid-19 in Mumbai on Monday at various centres run by the city civic body and the Maharashtra government during an exclusive session, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. A total of 1,26,419 vaccine doses were administered at all the active vaccination centres, including private ones, in Mumbai during the day.
